EF-Don™Drug Coated High Pressure Balloon Dilatation Catheter is a balloon catheter with an Over-The-Wire (OTW) design, and a ballon mounted on the distal part of the catheter near the tip, which is a high-pressure balloon. The flat section of the balloon is coated with a drug coating. The drug coating consists of paclitaxel and ammonium salt of shellac. The balloon catheter is introduced from approach blood vessel of the patient and travels along the guidewire to the vascular lesion site, dilation through the high pressure of balloon to dilate the stenosis of the blood vessel. At the same time, the drug coating on the balloon attaches to the vascular wall. The paclitaxel in the drug coating plays an anti-proliferative role, and is expected to improve the long-term patency rate of the target blood vessels.
